About Us
Alicia's Story

My name is Alicia, and I started my Indonesian food business with a little warung (a small food stall) in the middle of an industrial complex in Coopers Plains back in 2010. In 2014, we relocated to Indooroopilly and fast-forward to 2022, I opened our Indonesian restaurant here in Brisbane CBD. I am a self-taught chef who has a passion for quality Indonesian food.
Using my family recipes, I try my best to serve honest and authentic Indonesian cuisine to my loyal Brisbane diners. Our menu is versatile and constantly evolving, embracing the best of regional and rural cuisines to satisfy even most discerning of palates.

Our wide selection of Authentic Indonesian food draws its inspiration from the street stalls and markets of Indonesia, always using the finest, freshest ingredients and aromatic spices in our cooking. Our motivation is simple: to cook food that we enjoy eating ourselves, served in an Indonesian setting that is pleasant and inviting.

We had the pleasure to serve the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Mr. Joko Widodo, as well as a number of Indonesian cabinet members in different occasions. With that in mind, it is our privilege to serve you all here at Sendok Garpu 'Indonesian Gastronomy Corner' Brisbane CBD!
#SG4Community
The key to our restaurant's exponential growth for the past decade is the full support from the team and local community behind us. It is only right if we give back.

"From when there was Covid to floods, we are committed to do our part to help the community whenever needed".

Owner and Head Chef

The COVID-19 pandemic event has decimated jobs and placed millions of livelihoods at risk. For this reason (and a long overdue demand from our loyal customers who resides in Indonesia), Sendok Garpu Brisbane initiated to open its kitchen in Jakarta. Thanks to everyone who supported our home-based food business in our hometown, you have also empowered us in opening job opportunities for those in need.
